For arguments sake, say halal food means nothing to you. Do you care if something is halal and cause a fuss over it, or are you not silly?
Okay. So the other day I came across the best argument ever against the usual brand of idiots who decide to hold the ever ignorant, probably Today Tonight or A Current Affair influences stance that ‘halal food’ has no place in Australia.
As if we need more than merely stating the fact that Australia is constantly becoming a richer nature from the fact that we are (mostly) a nation of people who accept multiculturalism and love diversity.
It was posted on The Antibogan Facebook page under a comment regarding usual moronic beliefs those who choose ignorance often hold (You know, the usual kind of crap like a ‘refusal to assimilate’ or that immigrants want everything quintessentially ‘Australian’ banned.)

We are constantly hearing bogans crying about how non-whites are ‘trying to change us and our culture’. But none have been able to give any examples other than ‘they want to ban Christmas’ [false]; ‘they want to ban singing of the National Anthem’ [false]; ‘they’re trying to install Sharia Law’ [false]; ‘they refuse to assimilate’ [false]. These myths and hoaxes have been proven to be overflowing with bullshit and hysteria time and time again and I was wondering if anyone could illustrate some examples of how ‘they’ are trying to change us and out culture. Examples must be justified with substantial evidence.

PS wow this halal deal is blown out of proportion. It’s like complaining about gluten free products… Most products are naturally gluten free. Most foods are halal… If you eat an apple it’s halal, kosher, gluten free and vegetarian but that doesn’t make you a religious celiac vego now does it? God…
I have to say…Even if I did click the like button, I didn’t just like this comment. I freaking loved it. It is by far, the best put argument against your usual brand of knuckle dragging morons who got their knickers in a knot over things like Vegemite wearing the halal logo (while not changing their ingredients to wear it, I must add.), or Coles stocking halal Chicken, or the mere existence of halal food at all.
Seriously, if halal doesn’t meant anything to you – why do you care? Just as if gluten free, or vegetarian doesn’t matter to you, you probably don’t care. Is it as simple as satisfying the typical bogan’s need to bitch and moan and attention seek?
